Park, Lee, Kim, and Lee (2012) A comparison of response patterns between landline and cell phone
Park, S. H., Lee, G., Kim, S. W., and Lee, S. K. (2012). “A comparison of response patterns between landline and cell phone RDD surveys,” Paper presented at the 65th annual conference of the World Association for Public Opinion Research, Hong Kong.
Abstract
We conducted a probability-based dual frame RDD survey of landline and cell phone numbers with sufficient call attempts in Korea. In this paper, we investigate whether there are differences in response patterns between landlines and cell phones in Korea. The findings will be useful in planning an optimal call schedule to maximize the success rate in the RDD telephone surveys.
Note. This study suggests an optimal calling strategy by analyzing response patterns between landlines and cell phones. The strategy varies based on weekdays, weekends, afternoons, and evenings.
